In the pre-dawn hours of this morning it looked, for a while, as if the 52 day long "reclamation" of lands near Caledonia was being brought to an end as members of the Ontario Provincial Police staged a raid on the site and arrested many of the 6 Nations citizens participating in the action. But in a dramatic and surprising turn of events a second contingent of Native people came to the site following the initial raid, expelled the police, regained control of the encampment at the "Douglas Creek Estates" sub-division, and expanded it to include a blockade of Highway 6.
